I was so excited when the ladies from Dress to Success came to us and did their presentation to our AccounTech class. We can thank the ladies from Manpower for connecting us.
Today, I went to Dress for Success to be dressed for a complete attire for an interview.
You would not believe the treatment you receive from the minute you walk in the door! The volunteers, are wonderful ladies, and are there every step of the way and don’t hold back their opinions. I haven’t been hugged that much by so many!!!
This afternoon, I walked away with new shoes, awesome pair of pants, 2 blouses, a dress and a jacket, also including a purse, and the “special bag” of treats depending on the heat, I’m going to try and model one outfit!
I have never felt so good in all my life! I avoid going and trying on clothes and can’t remember the last time I did. For the last 3 years, finances and unemployment didn’t help.
I honestly can’t thank Dress for Success enough and when I walked out of there, I had 4 new friends, and then I met the lady in the parking lot! She was going to get Dressed for Success too and I was so happy to share my experience with her!

I would like to thank the ladies who took the time to meet with me at Dress for Success Central Alberta. The stylists are truly gifted in their use of various techniques of putting together an employment Interview outfit with not having previous knowledge of the women, her stresses, or lack of awareness about herself.
The ladies made me feel absolutely “worth it” during our first session. I left feeling invigored, my esteem increased two-fold, and my overall sense of worthiness were “re-presented” to me with an enthusiasm I feared had left me.
It has been a while for me to allow myself to display vulnerability, (how can someone who previously defined herself as a strong independent woman, and a woman who has her stuff together) yet needed help, guidance, and validation in the process of searching for a new employment opportunity.
This was so much more than I had anticipated, and I felt the energy of the stylist’s authenticity towards me. I highly recommend this opportunity to be experienced by every woman out there who is trying to find her way in the world.
