About Us: Dress for Success Central Alberta is dedicated to providing long-lasting solutions that empower women to break the cycle of poverty and achieve economic independence. Through our programs and initiatives, we support women in gaining the confidence and skills they need to thrive in the workplace and beyond.

Opportunity: We are currently seeking two dynamic and diverse individuals to join our Board of Directors. As a volunteer board member, you will play a crucial role in shaping the strategic direction of our organization, ensuring that we continue to make a meaningful impact in the lives of women in Central Alberta.

Ideal Candidates:
We are looking for individuals with a passion for our mission and the following qualifications:

• 5+ years of experience serving on non-profit boards: We value the insights and expertise that come from seasoned board members who understand the unique challenges and opportunities of the non-profit sector.
• Legal Background: Candidates with a legal background bring valuable expertise in governance, compliance, and risk management, helping us navigate any legal and regulatory issues and ensure that we operate ethically and responsibly.
• Proven Track Record in Fundraising and Community Partnerships: Effective fundraising is essential for the sustainability and growth of our organization. We are seeking individuals with a demonstrated ability to secure funding, cultivate donor relationships, and execute successful campaigns.

Responsibilities:
Board members are expected to actively contribute to the governance and strategic
direction of Dress for Success Central Alberta. This includes attending regular board meetings, participating in committee work, and leveraging your skills and networks to advance our mission.

Commitment:
This is a volunteer position with a commitment of approximately 5-10 hours per month, including board meetings, committee work, and occasional special events or fundraising activities.
