Dress for Success Central Alberta Celebrates The Power of Women

Dress for Success Central Alberta (DFSCA) celebrated International Women’s Day and the power of women at their inaugural Power Lunch event on Friday, March 7th. Nicole Gibson, CEO and Founder of inTruth Technologies spoke to a sold-out crowd about her mission to change how we understand and engage with emotions through her innovative use of technology. During the event two DFSCA volunteers and board members, Rachel Collin and Lee Ann Waines were recognized with the King Charles III Coronation Medals for their impact on the advancement and development of women and girls in our community.

“True equality is not about sameness—it’s about equal respect and appreciation for the strengths that both masculine and feminine leadership bring. If we honoured these differences, rather than forcing women to conform to outdated leadership models, we’d foster a more harmonious, balanced, and emotionally intelligent society,” says NicoleGibson.

The event highlighted community-centric solutions to create meaningful change, including the launch of a new program supporting women and children. DFSCA launched Mia’sCloset, created as a collaboration between DFSCA, the Central Alberta Child AdvocacyCentre and the Breaking the Mould Foundation. Mia’s Closet is a community driven program that will honour the vision and legacy of Mia Gunter, providing clothing to women and children to help them thrive during challenging times. Mia’s Closet is currently serving women and children on a referral basis from Dress for Success Central Alberta and the Central Alberta Child Advocacy Centre.
